Context

In 2013, after graduating from high school and seeing my parents’ financial situation, and the fact that they were fully responsible for sponsoring four of my older siblings in university, I decided to apply for scholarship opportunities abroad to alleviate their concerns about me furthering my education. This decision changed my life forever! After two and a half years of applying for scholarship opportunities across the world, I won a fully funded scholarship for my undergraduate studies at the African Leadership University in Mauritius which I completed in 2019. In addition, after my undergraduate studies, I also won a full scholarship in 2021 for my master’s program, which I am currently undertaking at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. The process of applying for these scholarships was very long, arduous, and difficult, but it was worth it in the end. The experiences, the people I’ve met from all over the world, and the opportunities I have had the chance to explore would not have been possible without me taking that first step to start exploring scholarship opportunities.

Now, I want to mentor other students who are inspired and motivated about applying for scholarships abroad. I regularly receive random texts and DMs about how I applied for these scholarships either from young people who are interested in applying or people who want to get more information for the students they are mentoring. Over the past three years, I have been to a few events in Lagos, Nigeria to talk about my journey and also directly engaged a few young people some of whom have been successful in their own scholarship applications. But then, I thought about opening this up to other people interested in getting advice regarding scholarship applications and other study-abroad opportunities.

To this end, I have created a Calendly page where you can book a free 30 minutes session with me to talk about your scholarship applications. You can access the link below. This service is free of charge and I intend to keep it that way for the foreseeable future. (The Calendly schedule is just for coordination purposes on my end. We can have the call on Whatsapp, Teams, Zoom, or any other platform you prefer).
